Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions protective parents, supporters, and partners ask most.

Everything you need to know

For Protective Parents

Is The Barron Foundation free to use?

Yes. Every resource on this website is free. The research library, the information, the stories — all free. The hot pink signs have a cost to cover printing and shipping, but everything informational is available to every protective parent at no charge.

Will The Barron Foundation help with my specific case?

The Barron Foundation is an advocacy and education organization — we are not attorneys and cannot provide legal representation or advice specific to your case. What we can do is point you to research, resources, and community so you are better equipped to advocate for yourself and your child. Visit our Resource Library to start.

How do I get a hot pink sign?

Visit our Hot Pink Signs page to order your sign. Signs start at $26 and are shipped directly to you. They are designed for yard display, courthouse visibility, and FCAM events every November.

I’m not a mother — is this foundation for me too?

Absolutely. The Barron Foundation supports all protective parents — mothers, fathers, grandparents, and caregivers. While our Family Ct. magazine is written specifically for mothers, every other resource, event, and program is for any protective parent fighting for their child.

What is Family Court Awareness Month?

Every November, advocates, protective parents, attorneys, lawmakers, and community members across all 50 states come together to shine a light on family court failures. The Barron Foundation directs FCAM nationally. Learn more on our FCAM page.

Can I share my story?

Yes — we collect stories for consideration in Family Ct. magazine and the foundation’s ongoing storytelling. You decide whether your name is used, and cases still in active court are kept strictly confidential. Submit yours on our Stories page.

For Donors & Sponsors

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. The Barron Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. EIN: 41-2418788. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt for your records.

How is my donation used?

Donations fund sign production and distribution, Family Court Awareness Month programming, coalition building, legislative advocacy, educational resources, and the infrastructure to keep this movement growing. We operate lean and we are accountable.

How do I donate?

Visit our Donate page to give via PayPal (paypal.me/barronfoundation) or Venmo (@barronfoundation). Every dollar — $26, $56, $76, $106, or $506 — makes a direct difference.

What is the Business Partner Program?

Businesses that share our values can partner with The Barron Foundation for visibility, community connection, and the chance to stand publicly for children’s safety. Tiers start at $106/year. Learn more on our Business Partner page.

About The Foundation

Who founded The Barron Foundation?

Dr. Kreslyn Barron Odum — physician, certified victims advocate, and protective parent — founded The Barron Foundation after eight years navigating a broken family court system. She turned that experience into a national movement. Learn more on our About page.

Where is The Barron Foundation based?

The Barron Foundation is based in Georgia, but our work is national. Family Court Awareness Month reaches all 50 states. Our coalition, legislative connections, and community extend from Georgia to Washington D.C. and across the country.

What does “The Barron Standard” mean?

The Barron Standard is our demand for what family courts should always provide: a child-centered approach, respect for children’s lived experiences, protection for parents acting to keep children safe, and accountability. It is the bar we hold the system to — and the bar we hold ourselves to.
